Recently, when Deepika waged a war on twitter against a leading newspaper for posting an insensitive picture and comment about her cleavage, Piggy chops ensured that she was supporting her bestie. When Priyanka’s dad was unwell and suffering from cancer, Deepika often visited her friend and became the pillar of support for Priyanka. Apparently, when Sanjay Leela Bhansali was planning on ‘Mary Kom’, Deepika had voiced out her desire to play the boxer, “I would loved to do the biopic.” However, when she heard that Priyanka would be playing the coveted role, she graciously said, “I feel Priyanka is right for the film.” Interestingly, the buzz is Priyanka was considered for the role of Leela in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela’ before Deepika bagged the role. However, the two leading women of cinema have not let professional trivialities affect their affectionate bond of friendship. “Deepika is a lovely person and we have known each other for years now, way before she became an actor. The reason is that we have a common circle of friends,” said Priyanka in an interview. Clearly, these two screen goddesses are thick as thieves and are nothing short of favorites to each other. Each one remembers the other’s birthday and ensures that no matter in which part of the world they are, their well wishes are reached promptly.
